False Rose of Jericho Flower

Also commonly referred to as a resurrection plant (selaginella lepidophylla) - this baby is a force to be reckoned with. Though it may look like a ball of dull strings upon first glance, it opens into a beautiful & lively specimen when placed in semi shallow water. The best part? With proper care, the cycle of opening and closing can be repeated for many years, as this plant has the ability to survive completely dehydrated for long periods of time, even in extreme conditions. 

Rose of jericho is a symbol of life, resilience, renewal, rebirth, and healing. This plant holds deep spiritual significance, and keeping one around your home is said to bring positivity and protection against evil eye + illness. Collect the water that the flower sits in and use it for all spiritual purposes related to cleansing, prosperity, rejuvenation, peace, and good health (utilize in floor washes, door washes, spiritual baths, loads of laundry, spirit offerings, homemade sprays + spiritual waters, and for body anointing). Some people like to place coins on top of or under their plant to spiritually revive their money. 

The ideal way to care for your resurrection plant is to replace the water every 1-2 days once it is fully opened, in order to prevent molding. It is best to give your plant indirect exposure to sunlight. Once a week you should leave your plant out of water completely for a day, and after about a month (or less), you should allow your plant to to be free from water for atleast a full week, letting the plant dehydrate entirely and curl back up to its original dry state. Once you are ready to begin the resurrection process again, repeat all steps. If your plant begins to mold, you can gently scrub or trim those pieces off. A few drops of tea tree oil on your plant will help preserve it longer. When your dried out flower isn't in use, store it somewhere dark and dry.
